The Arkansas Hospitality Association (AHA), a statewide membership organisation representing hospitality and tourism businesses across Arkansas in the United States, has appointed Alicia Payseno as its new chief executive officer, effective 5 January.
Payseno currently serves as director of economic development for the city of Cabot, where she oversees commercial recruitment, business expansion and community development initiatives. She previously led the Maumelle Area Chamber of Commerce and holds leadership roles with the Arkansas Economic Developers & Chamber Executives and the Arkansas Municipal League.
AHA leaders said her background aligns closely with the needs of one of Arkansas’ largest economic sectors. They believe her experience in economic development, partnership building and member-focused strategy will reinforce the association’s work across advocacy, workforce support and statewide coordination.
“We are delighted to welcome Alicia as our new CEO,” said Gary Patel, AHA board chairman. “Her proven track record in strategic growth and her passion for the state’s potential are exactly what the association needs to navigate the current landscape and drive the industry forward. We are confident her leadership will deliver immense value to our members and the state’s economy.”
Jim Shamburger, AHA board member, added: “Alicia has a contagious passion for the hospitality industry. Her proven success leading membership-based organizations will make her an effective leader for AHA.”
Payseno said she plans to expand member value, advance advocacy and strengthen the association’s organisational capacity. “The hospitality industry is at the heart of Arkansas’ local economies,” she said. “Restaurants, hotels and tourism are major employers in the state and vital to quality of life. Stepping into this role provides a meaningful opportunity to support the small business owners and workers who make this industry thrive.”
