South Korea's Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) and the Korean Accounting Association co-hosted a governance seminar in Seoul, bringing together outside directors, audit committee members, auditors and senior executives to address strategic challenges facing corporate boards in an increasingly volatile environment.

Chosunbiz reported that the seminar, titled "2026 Economic and Governance Trends: Strategic Responses by Corporate Governance Bodies," was held at The Forum in Two IFC in Yeouido on 29 April, and was structured across four sessions covering macroeconomic conditions, regulatory change, institutional investor disclosure and governance-financial performance linkages.

The first session, delivered by Oh Geon-young, director general of Shinhan Premier Pathfinder, examined global financial market conditions, with a focus on policy shifts under the current US administration and major exchange rate movements.

The second session, presented by Lim Jeong-ha, advisory member of the Center for Advancement of Corporate Governance Bodies and professor at the University of Seoul School of Law, addressed practical guidance for boards and audit committees following recent amendments to South Korea's Commercial Act.

Kang Pyeong-gyeong, vice president of the Korean Accounting Association and professor at Sogang University School of Business, led the third session on disclosure practices among large Korean institutional investors.

The final session was delivered by Kim Han-seok, head of the Center for Advancement of Corporate Governance Bodies at Korea DTTL, who reviewed domestic and international governance developments and examined links between governance structures and financial performance across industries.
