Reflecting on last year’s awards, the Association and Institutes Awards honoured organisations setting benchmarks across Ireland’s professional and business landscape, spotlighting those delivering measurable impact through strategic advocacy, member support, and sector-wide collaboration.

Learnovation 2024 secured the Best Event Award, showing how one carefully designed gathering can influence an entire sector. The flagship event brought together experts in education, corporate learning, and technology to explore the future of work and learning, with sessions on AI, digital transformation, and transversal skills.

Judges focused on execution as much as content. They praised the event’s meticulous planning, standout delivery, and lasting impact, noting that every element had been carefully curated to raise the bar. Keynote presentations, interactive workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities were woven into one cohesive experience rather than a string of disconnected talks.

The wider Best Event shortlist shows how formats are shaping sector leadership. Compliance Institute’s hybrid conference, Embracing the Challenge of Change, drew hundreds of virtual and in-person delegates. Senior regulatory officials, legal experts, and practitioners debated AI governance, the Digital Operational Resilience Act, consumer protection, and sustainability directives together. Solar Ireland’s Road to 2030 summit attracted over 400 renewable energy leaders to plan pathways towards Ireland’s 8 GW solar capacity target.

Events also extended beyond conference halls. NAPD’s Reimagining Leadership conference gathered secondary school leaders from across Ireland, giving principals and deputy principals a shared platform for professional growth. Woven Housing’s WoFund You Decide applied the same principle to community funding, giving tenants a direct vote on up to £1,000 per initiative across its Northern Ireland schemes.

Across the category, events functioned as strategic infrastructure. They convened fragmented stakeholders, turned policy into practice, and gave members a direct voice in shaping their sectors. For associations, the event has moved beyond showcase to a core instrument of influence.
