The Financial & International Business Association (FIBA) has named Pablo Vallejo, General Manager at Banco Pichincha’s Miami Agency, as its new Chair of the Board.

Vallejo succeeds to the role at a pivotal time as FIBA expands its influence within the international financial community.

With 27 years of experience in the financial services sector, Vallejo brings a proven track record in banking, strategy, and leadership. FIBA highlighted his extensive experience, stating: “His extensive experience, vision, and commitment to excellence will be key in guiding FIBA’s continued growth and expanding its impact within the financial community.” David Schwartz remains president and CEO of the association.

Vallejo, reflecting on his appointment, wrote: “It is an honor and a privilege to serve as Chairman of FIBA in 2026, and an even greater responsibility. FIBA’s results in 2025 were outstanding across all areas, marking a year defined by innovation and success. The bar is set very high.”

He has served as General Manager at Banco Pichincha – Miami Agency for nearly five years and previously spent 23 years at Citi, holding various executive positions in Quito (Ecuador), San Juan (Puerto Rico), and Miami. Vallejo emphasised the importance of building on FIBA’s strong foundation: “As we enter 2026, the challenge is clear and the opportunity even greater. With strong support from the executive team, the Board, and FIBA’s Executive Committee, our focus will be on driving growth, expanding our impact, and continuing to build on a very solid foundation.”

The appointment is expected to further strengthen FIBA’s strategic governance and operational oversight, supporting the association’s initiatives in global finance, executive education, and industry collaboration.
