Maynooth University's Innovation Value Institute (IVI), a research institute that has spent two decades building collaborative frameworks between academia, industry, and policymakers, has launched ATLAS, a new AI-enabled platform designed to make its organisational capability research accessible and applicable to organisations navigating complex transformation challenges.
Irish Tech News reported that the platform was launched by Minister of State for Public Procurement, Digitalisation and eGovernment, Frank Feighan TD, during the opening of the IVI Summit at Maynooth University, held to mark the institute's 20th anniversary.
ATLAS builds on IVI's Capability Maturity Framework, developed over the past two decades, combining research knowledge, AI-enabled insights, and practical organisational expertise into a single digital platform. The platform is designed to support decision-makers by making research on organisational capabilities, AI, and data more accessible in practice, while fostering international collaboration across sectors.
Minister Feighan said: "For twenty years, Maynooth University's Innovation Value Institute has built an international reputation for research excellence and practical impact, helping organisations across enterprise, government and society navigate digital transformation. Today marks an important milestone as IVI launches the next phase of its journey and continues to strengthen Ireland's position as a global leader in digital innovation."
Professor Markus Helfert, professor of digital service innovation at Maynooth University and director of the Innovation Value Institute, said: "The core DNA of IVI is three C's: Co-Creation, Community, Collaboration. The digital future with the rise of AI brings challenges but many more opportunities, and we remain focused on applicable digital solutions for businesses and organisations. We are excited to launch ATLAS to deliver accessible organisational capability improvement and real, future-focused business transformation."
The platform launch was part of a three-day IVI Summit at Maynooth University, titled Twenty Years of Impactful Research, What's Next?, which brought together more than 100 experts from over 15 countries representing industry, the public sector, and academia. The programme included roundtable discussions on digital transformation, data, and AI across sectors ranging from age-friendly futures to agricultural data.
The IVI's collaborative model, anchored in its three-pillar philosophy of co-creation, community, and collaboration, reflects the operating principles increasingly central to research institutes seeking to deliver measurable impact beyond academic publication and into organisational practice.
