Solar Ireland (formerly the Irish Solar Energy Association) has been honoured with the Best Association of the Year award at the Association and Institute Awards 2025, recognising its outstanding leadership in advancing Ireland’s renewable energy transition.
Representing over 160 members across the solar sector, the organisation has become a driving force behind the country’s shift toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy landscape.
In 2024, Solar Ireland championed key policy achievements that directly strengthened national solar capacity, supporting a remarkable 42.6% increase in installed capacity, improving rooftop installation standards with the SEAI, and securing zero VAT on solar systems for homes and businesses. These milestones reflect the association’s continued influence in shaping Ireland’s renewable energy policy and accelerating solar adoption nationwide.
The judging panel praised Solar Ireland for its strategic focus, measurable impact, and collaborative spirit, highlighting its success as a lean yet powerful organisation delivering meaningful results.
“Solar Ireland demonstrates what can be achieved through vision, persistence, and partnership. Its work not only benefits the industry but contributes significantly to Ireland’s decarbonisation goals,” judges noted.
