The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), the country's national body for marketing, has formally appointed a new Council of Management and Executive Committee at its Annual General Meeting 2026, held on 8 April at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo, marking the start of a new leadership term for the 2026/27 year.

The Island Online reported that Enoch Perera assumed office as president, with Manthika Ranasinghe appointed as vice president for education and research, and Rajiv David as vice president for events and sustainability.

The Council is further supported by Asanka Perera and Nuwan Thilakawardhana as joint honorary secretaries, Kaushala Amarasekara as honorary treasurer, and Dr Rasanjalee Abeywickrama as honorary assistant secretary.

The Executive Committee for 2026/27 comprises ten professionals drawn from across the marketing industry, including Channa Jayasinghe, Vijitha Govinna, Anuk De Silva, Sirimevan Senevirathne, Tharindu Karunarathne, Damith Jayawardana, Charitha Dias, Damith Pathiraja, Roshani Fernando and Maduranga Weeratunga.

Perera said: "SLIM stands today at a powerful intersection of transformation and opportunity. As we take forward the remarkable progress achieved in recent years, our focus will be on strengthening professional standards, expanding global engagement, and ensuring that Sri Lanka's marketing fraternity is equipped to compete on an international stage."

The AGM brought together SLIM members, industry stakeholders and professionals, reflecting the institute's ongoing commitment to advancing marketing as a profession across Sri Lanka.

Chief Executive Officer Chamil Wickremasinghe and immediate past president Prof Norman Jayantha also attended the proceedings.

The new leadership team builds on what the institute described as a transformative 2025, with continuity and renewal cited as the defining themes of the transition.
