
EU-US trade deal welcomed by Irish business groups, but concerns remain over tariffs
Ibec and Chambers Ireland have cautiously welcomed the new EU-US trade framework, citing increased certainty for exporters. However, they warn that the agreed 15% tariff on imports to the US will still impose a significant cost burden, particularly for sectors like Irish whiskey and agri-food. The deal follows direct talks between US President Donald Trump and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland.
